I was really attracted to New York based artist Aaron Wexler’s collage work from first glance. Wexler’s work mixes painting with cut & paste techniques to result in beautifully abstracted pieces of work, which in my eyes would be really successful when translated to textile as well. I just finished reading a really nice article in the New York Times about spacesuits. The article was written in reference to a traveling exhibition of full-size photographs and X-ray images organized by the Smithsonian, set to launch next Spring. Shown here are some of the suits, x-ray images and explanations of each image. These are such a huge source of inspiration for designers, the details and functions are endless. I can not wait to see this exhibit!

I have yet to see Black Swan, but after seeing these posters, I feel a greater urgency to make it to the theater asap. This series of promo adverts were created by London based design studio, LaBoca. The strikingly visual posters probably beat any movie posters I have seen over the last decade. The palette and most of the posters remind me of a lot of Russian Constructivism, one of my favorite movements in art history. I really wish billboards could be infiltrated with this caliber of work to promote movies nowadays.
